Apple’s recent event left us guessing as to when we would actually receive the 4.1 iOS update, but it’s now been spotted on their site in a tiny bit of text. If you don’t have an iPhone yet, they are available for free from freebiejeebies.

The iOS 4.1 update is the one that iPhone 4 and iPhone 3G users have been waiting for some time, the update promises to fix the majority of the known issues such as the proximity sensor, bluetooth and for 3G owners, it promises to boost the performance making it a viable option.

The interesting thing about the release date is that although it is stated as the 8th of September on the UK website, other country’s websites including the US are still saying “coming soon.” giving no further information of the release. There’s no guarantee that it will be a world wide release when the update comes but it wouldn’t be unlike Apple.

Apple have a way of getting into bad relationships with other companies, be it denying development rights for unjust reasoning or spinning subtle insults in to their annual conferences. Personally I love my iPhone which I got for free from freebiejeebies but Apple need to watch who they insult.

Apple’s recent blatant insult is aimed at Nintendo and Sony, claiming that the iPod Touch is a far more popular mobile gaming platform, taking sales figures that are higher than that of the Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS combined.

Shortly after the event where Apple made this insult, the figures used were called into dispute, with claims of Apple’s sales of iOS devices including the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad’s combined coming in a significant number lower than the sales figures of just the Nintendo DS alone. Could this be Apple spinning lies for their own personal profit, I’m sure it would not be the first time.
